Salt lamp HDR Photo on Oct 21, 2008
This is an actual bracketed image converted to HDR and tonemapped with Photomatix (highly recommended). The image was a test, normally a long exposure would give the room a proper exposure and blow out the salt lamp, but the hdr revealed the detail nicely.
Not exceptional but still fun :)
Fun with clouds Photo on Oct 21, 2008
This is a bit of a pseudo-hdr conversion done with lightroom. I've described the technique on another photo, and was just trying it out again.
Pillar Restaurant HDR Photo on Oct 11, 2008
I did quite a few shots in this restaurant a while back, specifically with tonemapping in mind (woodgrain is so much fun). More coming soon, check out the HDR album for some more fun shots.
Raven River Faux HDR Photo on Oct 11, 2008
This is another one I banged together in about 1 minute in Lightroom, (loosely) using the technique described here. Here is the extreme HDR, and the original. Not bad really, for a tiny effort.
Raven River Original Photo on Oct 11, 2008
Here is the original Raven River image. You can see the (extreme) HDR version here, and the Lightroom Faux HDR here
Raven River HDR Photo on Oct 11, 2008
I took this photo to the extreme. There are a lot of unnatural artifacts and coloring, but it's still kinda fun. The original is quite bland in comparison. There is a mock HDR done in Lightroom here.
Burntstick Lake Road Photo on Sep 24, 2008
I shot this I think the same day as the Clearwater picture, I was playing a lot with HDR images, seeing how the Canon was brand new to us, and shot in Camera RAW format. I haven't done a lot with HDRs since then, but what I have done is fun. :)
Clearwater River Photo on Sep 24, 2008
I took this one in the summer last year just after we got the camera. I could see some little fish swimming around the rocks just below me, but I couldn't find them in this picture.
This is shot with the stock lens that comes with the 30D, the EF-S 18-55mm, and some aberrations are very clear around the treetops when the localized contrast is pushed a bit.
HDR Photo Album on Sep 24, 2008
A collection of photos I took the time to play with in HDR software.
